Root Canal Treatment in Istanbul by a Specialist Endodontist — Under the Microscope

Root canal treatment removes inflamed or infected pulp from inside the tooth, cleans and shapes the canals and seals them — saving a tooth that would otherwise be lost. At GC Clinic in Nişantaşı, Istanbul, it is performed by Specialist Endodontist Dr. G. Cansu Öztürk under a dental operating microscope.

Endodontics is our founding discipline: Dr. Öztürk completed her specialist training at Marmara University, served as Assistant Professor and Head of Endodontics at Yeni Yüzyıl University, and is a member of the ESE, AAE and Turkish Endodontic Society. If you are searching for an endodontist in Istanbul — especially for a failed root canal — this is what we do best.

Why the microscope matters

4–25× magnification changes outcomes.

Hidden canals (MB2)

Upper molars frequently have a second mesiobuccal canal invisible to the naked eye. A missed canal is the most common cause of root canal failure.

Retreatment of failed root canals

Old filling removal, locating missed canals, broken instrument retrieval and perforation repair — all under direct magnified vision.

Less healthy tissue removed

Seeing exactly where to work means smaller access cavities and a stronger tooth afterwards.

Written warranty

Root canal retreatment carries a 2-year written warranty.

The process

What to expect.

1

Diagnosis

Examination and, where needed, CBCT imaging maps the root anatomy. Whether the tooth is worth saving is answered honestly.

2

Isolation & treatment

Rubber dam isolation; canals located, cleaned, shaped and sealed under the microscope — usually 1–2 visits.

3

Restoration

The tooth is restored with a filling, onlay or crown from our in-house lab — essential to prevent fracture.

4

Follow-up

Healing is checked at recall; records are shared with your dentist abroad on request.

Frequently asked

Root canal treatment — your questions.

Is root canal treatment painful?

No — it is performed under local anaesthesia. Mild sensitivity for a few days afterwards is normal; increasing pain or swelling should be reported.

My root canal done elsewhere failed. Can it be saved?

Very often, yes. Retreatment under the microscope addresses missed canals, reinfection and leakage. We assess on CBCT first and tell you frankly if the tooth cannot be saved.

How much does a root canal cost in Istanbul?

It depends on the number of canals, whether it is a first treatment or a retreatment, and the final restoration needed. A price quoted before examination is unreliable; we quote in writing after a free consultation. Various payment options are available.

How many visits are needed?

Most cases are completed in one or two visits; complex retreatments may need more. For visitors, we plan visits to fit your stay.

Should I choose an endodontist or a general dentist?

Simple front-tooth cases can be handled by general dentists; molars, calcified canals, retreatments and complications are where a specialist with a microscope makes the difference.

Do you use the same warranty for root canal treatment?

Retreatment carries a 2-year written warranty; conditions are stated on the document.
