Written warranty

Concrete Terms. In Writing. No “Lifetime” Slogans.

In dentistry, “warranty” is too often a verbal promise that fades when a problem appears. We remove that uncertainty from the start: every treatment comes with a signed, written warranty stating scope, duration, exclusions and follow-up conditions.

We do not use unverifiable claims like “lifetime guarantee”. Instead we commit to concrete terms: 10 years on implant fixtures, 5 years on crowns and veneers, 2 years on root canal retreatment, 1 year on soft-tissue procedures.

GC Clinic written treatment warranty certificate — 10 years implants, 5 years crowns and veneers
By treatment

What is covered, for how long.

10 years — implant fixture

Failure to integrate with bone, mechanical fracture, manufacturer defect. Remedy: a new implant placed free of charge. Straumann and Nobel Biocare manufacturer warranties apply in addition.

5 years — crowns and veneers

Material-related fracture, debonding, abnormal discolouration. Remedy: the restoration is remade free of charge; IPS e.max / Ivoclar manufacturer coverage remains in force.

2 years — root canal retreatment

Reinfection or failure after retreatment. Remedy: retreatment repeated free of charge; apical surgery evaluated where indicated.

1 year — soft-tissue procedures

Unexpected complications after periodontal surgery. Remedy: revision free of charge; patient-related factors such as oral hygiene and smoking are considered.

Two layers of protection

Manufacturer warranty vs. clinic warranty.

A manufacturer warranty covers only the product: Straumann or Nobel Biocare replaces a fixture with a manufacturing defect — but not the removal, re-placement or new restoration. Our clinic warranty covers the procedure itself. For both to work together, the implant’s brand and lot number must be documented — which is why every patient receives an Implant Passport.

Transparent scope

Covered / not covered.

✓ Covered

Manufacturer-related implant failure · failure to osseointegrate · fracture, debonding and abnormal discolouration of restorations · clinical application error · reinfection after retreatment · periodontal surgery complications.

✗ Not covered

Trauma (accidents, impact) · disease due to insufficient oral hygiene · smoking-related healing problems · bruxism cases where a prescribed night guard was not used · missed annual check-ups · treatments performed elsewhere.

Frequently asked

About our warranty.

When do I receive the warranty document?

On completion of treatment, signed and in writing — scope, duration, exclusions and check-up conditions are all stated.

I live abroad — does the warranty work for me?

Yes. Preliminary assessment is done remotely with photos and images; if intervention is needed, your appointment is planned around your travel. Your Implant Passport also lets a dentist at home identify your exact components.

What keeps the warranty valid?

An annual check-up (with hygiene where needed), good home care, and a night guard if bruxism was diagnosed — all stated upfront in the document.

Why no lifetime warranty?

Because it cannot be verified or audited. Concrete duration, written scope and documented materials — a guarantee is only real when all three exist.
