Aesthetic dentistry · Nişantaşı

A natural smile, with the least intervention.

At GC Clinic, aesthetic dentistry is planned and personally carried out by the clinic’s owner and Clinical Director, Dr G. Cansu Öztürk. Our aim is a smile that looks like your own — achieved while keeping as much healthy tooth tissue as possible.

This page is a map of our aesthetic treatments: which treatment we consider for which problem, and in what order. Each topic has its own page with the detail.

Our approach

Least intervention first: the order we assess.

1

Teeth whitening

The first option when discolouration is not structural; in-office or take-home. Teeth whitening →

2

Cosmetic bonding

Small chips, gaps and shape problems can be corrected with composite, without cutting the tooth. Restorative dentistry →

3

Alignment

For crowded teeth, alignment with clear aligners is considered first; it often reduces the need for preparation. Clear aligners →

4

Porcelain veneers

Only 0.3–0.5 mm of enamel is reduced from the front of the tooth; a no-prep option is considered where suitable. Ivoclar IPS e.max. Porcelain veneers →

5

Full crown

For heavily filled, fractured or root-filled teeth and in the back of the mouth where strength comes first — only when indicated. Zirconia crowns →

Why this order: our conservative approach.

Smile design

You see the result before treatment.

Planning starts with iTero digital scanning and a smile simulation. The colour, shape and alignment of the teeth — and, where needed, the gum line — are designed around your face and lip line.

The design is tried in your mouth as a mock-up before any irreversible step, and treatment does not begin without your approval. More: Smile design (Hollywood Smile).

Veneer or zirconia?

Veneers first for front teeth; crowns when needed.

A veneer and a full crown are not the same thing. A veneer is bonded only to the front of the tooth; a crown wraps the whole tooth and removes more tissue. So for front teeth we consider veneers where suitable, and zirconia for back teeth where strength comes first and for teeth with large restorations.

Common questions

About aesthetic dentistry.

What does aesthetic dentistry cover?

At our clinic it covers teeth whitening, cosmetic bonding, alignment with clear aligners, porcelain veneers (Ivoclar IPS e.max), zirconia crowns where needed, and gum aesthetics — all assessed as parts of one smile plan.

Will my teeth be cut for veneers?

For porcelain veneers only 0.3–0.5 mm of enamel is reduced from the front of the tooth; there is no all-round preparation as with a crown. In suitable cases a no-prep option is also considered.

Does a smile makeover mean crowns on every tooth?

No. The plan is based on the teeth that show when you smile and the problem to be solved. Healthy teeth are not cut for a problem that bonding, whitening or alignment can solve; a full crown is recommended only when it is clearly indicated.

Can I see the result before treatment?

Yes. The result is planned with iTero digital scanning and digital smile design, then tried in your mouth as a mock-up and approved with you before any irreversible step.
